When Arnold introduced these, the collector Belle Rosenbaum ordered seven pairs to give as wedding gifts. An earlier pair, number 27, carried a seven-branch menorah in gold on a deep blue glaze.

ושמרו בני ישראל את השבת לעשות את השבת לדרתם ברית עולם. ביני ובין בני ישראל אות היא לעלם כי ששת ימים עשה ה' את השמים ואת הארץ וביום השביעי שבת וינפש.
The children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, observing the Sabbath throughout their generations as an everlasting covenant. It is a sign between Me and the children of Israel forever, for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed.
