The text reads: "I will be that I will be" (Exodus 3:14). Shown here is a diagram drawn by Jewish mystics since the twelfth century and perhaps 2,000 years old. It is a representation of the Awesome and Divine Attributes of God. In the tradition God created ten vessels to receive His creative power and act as "a pattern of laws that would govern the universe while still retaining a simple unity." They are the Jewish counterpart of the laws of nature, or Jewish metaphysics. In our tradition they are the blueprint for describing how everything from inanimate stone to animals, people, the psyche, the soul, and other levels of existence relate to each other. The name associated with the highest level, the Crown, is the same as the name God gave Moses at the burning bush when Moses asked: "Who shall I say sent me to set the children of Israel free?"
